Meet The Sock Bag — a seamless, knit-in-the-round bag designed to be made from start to finish on the same needles, beginning with just one cast-on.
Inspired by the construction of a sock, The Sock Bag is worked continuously to create a smooth, sculptural shape that transforms beautifully through the felting process. The result is a structured, wearable bag with a unique construction. The handle even stands on its own! Designed to be both practical and fun to make, the Sock Bag is the kind of accessory you’ll reach for again and again. Choose bold, playful colors or understated neutrals to make it completely your own.

Materials & Supplies

Yarn
DROPS Snow, 100% untreated wool, super bulky weight — 250g total (50 g / 50 m [55 yd] each), or another non-superwash 100% wool with similar gauge.


Needles
US 13 (9mm) 32-inch circular (80cm)

  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers
  • Measuring tape
  • 9mm crochet hook (optional for casting off)


Construction
The Sock Bag is worked seamlessly in the round from a single cast-on, using a toe-up sock-inspired construction method. Once knitting is complete, the bag is felted to create its signature structured and sculptural finish.


Skill Level: Beginner, experience with knitting in the round, basic increases and decreases, and working with bulky yarn is recommended. The accompanying video tutorials provide additional visual guidance throughout the construction process.
